Worship Exhortations

…So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.  And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly. – 2 Chronicles 29: 35-36.

epair (repentance) – Rejoicing – Rivival: At the time of Hezekiah, there was revival and rejoicing when the service (worship) in the house of God was set in order (2 Chronicles 29:35-36).

King, Ahaz (prior to king Hezekiah) sacrificed to god of Damascus, closed down the doors of the house of God, put off the lamps in the house of God and made him altars everywhere in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 28: 24-25). In his distress, he did trespass more ( 2 Chronicles 28:22). The service of the house of the God was stopped.

But, when Hezekiah became king over Judah, he opened the doors of the house of God (2 Chronicles 29:13) – he repaired the house of God; the filthiness in the house of God was removed (2 Chronicles 29:13). As a result the wrath of God was taken away from the people of Judah (Ephesians 2:1; 2:8-10) when they have repented of the wickedness of their fathers (Isaiah 1:4).

The temple (house of God) service was set in order by king Hezekiah by restoring the offering of sacrifices and setting in order of the singers (2 Chronicles 29-30). The people rejoiced and there was revival. Likewise, when the worship to Lord is set in order there would be great rejoicing and revival in our midst.

Table Exhortations

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesinas  3 : 17-19).

ealth – Walk – Warfare:

Apostle Paul ministered at Ephesus for about three years. The brief account of his ministry is recorded in Acts 19th and 20th chapters, especially Acts 20 describes how Paul ministered to them with tears and prayers and declared the complete counsel of God to them (Act 20:27).

The epistle to the Ephesians is to further reveals the plan of God to the believers at Ephesus. Not only to them but God revealed “All counsel of God” or “Plan of God” for us individually. The desire of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is that we should know the plan and purpose of God clearly (Ephesians 1: 17-19).

The Lord blessed us with all blessings in heavenly place in Christ (Ephesians 1: 4-16). The way for any individual to enter into such a blessed state is (1)  through new life (salvation) – that is being in Christ (Ephesians 2 describes the twofold transformation in a person as a result of salvation – Ephesians 2: 1- 10 and Ephesians 11-22). Such transformation makes a person to be identified in Christ, (2) secondly the blessed state is through is Church life – that is Christ in us (Ephesians chapters 3 and 4 describe the blessedness of a believer through Church).

The epistle of Ephesians thus tells us the Wealth of a believer in Christ, the Walk and the Warfare of the believer called to receive such wealth of God.  Let us walk such a walk and be victorious in our spiritual warfare.
