Worship Exhortations
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter…Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:1-11
ho is our Lord and what is His worth: Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan after Jesus testified in baptism in the River Jordan. Satan was not successful in obtaining the worship from Jesus Christ. But, Satan tries to rob the glory of God and tries his best to rob our worship to God. But we as believers who are washed and bought by the blood of the Lamb worship the Lord Jesus Christ. In our worship to the Lord Jesus Christ we tell who He is and and how much worth He is to us.
- We worship our Lord because we love Him and offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. We, the worshipers become the sacrifice when we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice on the altar.
- We worship the Lord because He is the Sovereign God. In the book of Revelation 4 we see that the word “throne” is mentioned seven times. Throne speaks of the authority or sovereignty of God. In worship we acknowledge the authority, power, dominion, control and supremacy of Jesus Christ before the throne of God. The throne also shows that only the Lord must be given glory (Isaiah 6:1-2). Everyone in the universe must give glory of God. We need to encounter the throne acknowledging Christ’s authority.
- We worship Jesus Christ because He is Eternal God having no beginning and no end. He is the alpha and omega.
- We worship the Lord because He is the creator God. He has fearfully and wonderfully created us as Psalmist David writes (it is amazing to know that in a new born baby there are trillions of cells with many genes in each cell – that is the wisdom of our creator). He is the creator of universe and man.
- We worship the Lord because He is redeemer God. We believe in the power blood of the Lamb and we enter into the holiest place (Hebrews 10:19).
- We worship the our Lord Jesus by responding to who He is (Revelation 4:10).
- We worship the Lord when we serve Him while we serve others. We should do it more because the Lord Jesus Christ is going to come back soon ( Matthew 25:34-).
Table Exhortations
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17; My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9; For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalms 84:11.
lory in the Lord alone: In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Apostle Paul says, “most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me“.
By believing in the finished work of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are saved and we become righteous, as it is written that “Abraham believed God and it is counted for him righteousness”. Jesus Christ is the alpha and omega. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for thee”. If you are having any weakness or suffering from any sickness in the flesh, the sufficient grace of Lord Jesus Christ is with you. In the second part of 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul told to the church that the power of Christ may rest upon us.
Apostle Paul was suffering from a weakness in his flesh while ministering. Therefore the Lord said that His grace is sufficient for him. So, apostle Paul is glorying in his infirmities. We humans naturally glory when our children do well in studies or when they obey us. However, we should glory in the Lord only (2 Corinthians 10: 17-18) whether in your job, work or in the lives of your children. Without our notice, we take pride in ourselves. Are we glorying in the Lord in spirit or taking pride in ourselves using our flesh.
Paul told that he lived in the world with the wisdom of God. He did not walk with the wisdom of the world (1 Corinthians 1: 12). People of this world manifest the wisdom of the world in the way they talk. But Paul lived, even in the world also, with a conscience of simplicity and godly sincerity. Therefore, we should live with the wisdom of God in the world and glory in the wisdom of Jesus Christ but not in the wisdom of the world. We should serve Jesus Christ with the wisdom of God.
Apostle Paul, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, wrote that our Lord is the God of comfort. When we go through the sufferings, the Lord comforts us and we can comfort others. Therefore, like Paul we can glory in our sickness or weakness without being discouraged.
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 1 Corinthians 11:27-29.
We glory in the Lord only and live in the world with the wisdom of God. Before taking part in the Lord’s table, we ask the Lord that the Lord may cleanse even our conscience also that it may be sincere and pure before Him.
